Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 mashed bananas
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt, optional
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 (6-ounce) package chocolate chips (about 1 cup)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a cake pan.
  2. Cream butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift dry ingredients and mix into creamed mixture.
  4. Add chocolate chips, nuts if used, and mashed bananas.
  5. Pour into pan and bake approximately 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
