Broth-Top Drop Dumplings
Simple, three-ingredient dumplings cooked directly on top of soup, broth, or another simmering dish.
Ingredients
- 2½ cups flour
- ½ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon salt
Directions
- Mix the flour, milk, and salt together to make the dumpling mixture.
- Drop portions of the mixture onto the top of the soup, broth, or other dish you are cooking.
- Cover the pot and cook the dumplings on top of the simmering liquid for 20 minutes.
The creator confirms the pot is always covered while the dumplings cook. The notebook does not specify a portion size or exact heat beyond cooking the dumplings on top of the dish. Those details are intentionally not invented.
From the Creator's Kitchen
The creator confirms these were her dumplings, prepared by dropping the mixture directly onto whatever soup or broth she was cooking. They cook on top for 20 minutes, rather than being prepared separately. The original short notebook instruction reads: “Mix and drop into broth. Cook for 20 mins.”
