Cat Food Topper Gelatin Treats

Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp plain, unflavored gelatin
  • 2 Tbsp cat food topper (moist or liquid, cat-safe)

Directions

  1. Measure 2 tablespoons of your cat’s preferred moist or liquid food topper into a small heat-safe bowl.
  2. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon plain, unflavored gelatin evenly over the topper. Let stand briefly to hydrate. If the topper is thick, stir thoroughly to distribute the gelatin.
  3. Warm the mixture gently, stirring until the gelatin dissolves completely. Do not boil. If using a microwave, heat in short bursts and stir between them.
  4. Pour or spoon the mixture into small silicone treat molds.
  5. Refrigerate until the treats are firm enough to unmold. Keep refrigerated and use within 2–3 days, or freeze individual portions for longer storage.
  6. Offer a small molded treat as a topper or snack. The original card says “Add 1/4 tsp to Food,” so start with a 1/4-teaspoon portion if using it as a food topper.

Original card notes

The original notes read “To Toppers,” “1/4 tsp Gelatin,” “2 Tbsp” (cat food topper), “Mix,” and “Add 1/4 tsp to Food.” The molds and serving as cat treats are part of the recipe’s intended use.

Important: Use only plain unflavored gelatin and cat-safe toppers without onion, garlic, xylitol, or other unsuitable ingredients. Treats are supplemental, not a replacement for complete cat food. Texture depends on the amount of liquid in the chosen topper.
