Dry Shampoo for Pets
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 5–10 drops each of lavender essential oil and tea tree essential oil
Notebook instructions (historical transcription)
Place the ingredients in a shaker jar, then massage the powder into the animal’s coat. The notebook does not specify a removal step or a quantity to apply.
Do not use this formula on pets. It is being preserved to document the original notebook, not as grooming instructions.
Safety and archival notes
Unlike some other pages, this photographed formula is not visibly crossed out. Nevertheless, it is not a safe recommendation for cats or dogs: tea tree essential oil can cause serious toxicity in pets, including through skin exposure and grooming ingestion. Lavender oil also presents exposure concerns. Loose powder may be inhaled, especially by small animals. Consult a veterinarian about pet-safe cleaning or grooming products rather than applying this mixture.
The amounts are recorded for archival fidelity only. The title in the notebook is “Dry shampoo for pets.”
