Lavender Himalayan Salt Body Scrub
Ingredients
- 1 cup fine-ground Himalayan pink salt
- 1/2–2/3 cup carrier oil: extra-virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or avocado oil
- 10–15 drops lavender essential oil
Directions
- Measure the fine-ground Himalayan pink salt into a clean, dry glass bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of your chosen carrier oil and mix well with a fork. Add additional oil, up to 2/3 cup total, until the scrub reaches your preferred texture.
- Add 10–15 drops of lavender essential oil and mix thoroughly.
- Transfer to a clean, dry container with a tight-fitting lid.
- To use, scoop out a small amount with clean, dry hands or a dry spoon. Gently massage onto wet, intact skin, then rinse thoroughly. Use care, as oils can make the shower or bath slippery.
About the original notebook entry
This page has no title. “Lavender Himalayan Salt Body Scrub” is a descriptive title added for the archive. The original notes call for fine-ground Himalayan pink salt, 1/2–2/3 cup of an oil, and lavender essential oil. Listed oil alternatives include coconut, olive, sweet almond, jojoba, and avocado. The instructions say to mix in a glass bowl with a fork, store in an airtight container, and apply to wet skin before rinsing.
Care and storage notes
Use only on intact skin, not cuts or freshly shaved or irritated areas; salt can sting and abrasive rubbing can irritate. Lavender essential oil may cause a reaction in sensitive skin. Keep water out of the stored mixture and avoid dipping wet fingers into the jar. With no preservative system, water introduced during use can promote microbial growth; do not assume a specific shelf life. Keep away from eyes and be mindful that oil can leave floors slippery.
