Mother's Christmas snack mix

Ingredients

• 4 cups Rice Chex
• 4 cups Wheat Chex
• 4 cups Corn Chex
• 4 cups Cheerios
• 2 cups pretzels
• 1½ large candy-bar-style packages of almond bark (original package weight not recorded)
• 1 can peanuts
• 1 can mixed nuts

Directions

1. Melt almond bark over low heat in a double boiler.
2. Mix the cereals, pretzels and nuts in a bowl.
3. Pour melted almond bark over the mixture and coat thoroughly.
4. Spread onto wax paper.
5. After cooling, break into smaller pieces.

Family story

Mom made this every Christmas for years, giving each child and grandchild a Ziploc bag of snack mix. She used one and one-half of the large almond-bark bars sold in packages resembling oversized candy bars. Exact weights and nut can sizes are not recorded.
