Directions

  1. Preheat. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine wet ingredients. Whisk pumpkin purée, eggs, and peanut butter together.
  3. Make the dough. Add flour and a dash of salt, mixing until a dough begins to form.
  4. Shape (suggested). Roll the dough out and cut into shapes with cookie cutters, as shown in the original recipe photograph. Place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake (suggested, not tested). Start checking at 10 minutes; allow approximately 10–15 minutes for small or thin cookies. Thicker cookies may need longer. Bake until set and no raw dough remains in the center. Adjust after testing for your cutter size and thickness.
  6. Cool. Let cool before serving. For dogs, cool completely and offer only appropriately sized pieces.

A Note for Dog Owners

These cookies may be shared with dogs as occasional treats, provided every ingredient is dog-safe. Use plain pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling, and check that the peanut butter contains no xylitol (birch sugar), which is extremely toxic to dogs. Avoid flavored or sweetened variations and account for the treats in the dog's daily food intake.
